1. Curtis Brackett, (MV)
- Mr. Stange owns a 1973 Mercury Capri assessed at $500. Disagrees with the assessment based on the age & mileage of the car.
- Approved: 1973 Mercury Capri value was reduced to $500 giving it a new assessment of $350.
- Mr. Stange owns a 2002 Harley Soft Tail motorcycle assessed at $5,700. Disagrees with assessment based on the mileage. Excessive mileage but motorcycle is in good condition.
- Approved: 2002 Harley Soft Tail value was reduced to $7,435 giving it a new assessment of $5,205. No mileage adjustment chart for motorcycles. Board of Assessment Appeals used clean trade-in value for a more accurate assessment to reflect excessive mileage.
4. Mark Stange, (MV)
- Mr. Stange owns a 1986 Mazda B2000 assessed at $714. Disagrees with
assessment based on the age & mileage of the car.
- Approved: 1986 Mazda B2000 value was reduced to $500 giving it a new
assessment of $350.
5. Mark Stange, (MV)
- Mr. Stange owns a 1990 Honda Civic assessed at $1,380. Disagrees with
assessment based on the age & mileage of the car.
- Approved: 1990 Honda Civic value was reduced to $500 giving it a new
assessment of $350.
6. Lindsay M. Steel, (MV)
7. Thomas & Joanne Davis, (MV)
- Mr. & Mrs. Davis own a 2008 Honda Odyssey assessed at $17,520. Disagrees
with assessment based on excessive mileage. 27,000+ miles. Carpool vehicle.
- Denied: Mileage adjustment now allowed @ average mileage for October 1,
2009 according to the NADA book.
8. Shawn Carney, (MV)
- Mr. Carney owns a 2000 Chevy K1500 assessed at $6,510. Assessment
increased by $1,155 in one year. Disagrees with assessment based on age,
mileage, and condition of the truck. Bought truck for $18,000. Rear suspension
rotted out, computer problems, emission problems with clean air compliance.
200,000+ miles.
- Approved: 2000 Chevy K1500 value was reduced to $5,580 giving it a new
assessment of $3,906. Mileage off of the mileage chart in the NADA. Value
can not exceed 40% of the trade-in value. Board of Assessment appeal took full
value of $9,300 and multiplied it by 40% coming up with a reduction of
$3,720. New full value is $5,580 with an assessment of $3,906.
9. Patricia & Joseph Lato, (MV)
- Mr. & Mrs. Lato own a 2003 Sundowner Stampede assessed at $9,180.
Disagrees with the assessment based on age & incorrect information provided
by the assessor. The assessor comps include trailers with a tack/dressing room
& trailers that are much bigger in size. Not a show trailer just a regular box
trailer. Floor is corroded from the horses going to the bathroom. Purchase price
in 2002 was $12,500. Believes trailer is worth $5,000.
- Approved: 2003 Sundowner Stampede value was reduced to $5,000 giving it a
new assessment of $3,500. Board of Assessment Appeal used (6) years of
depreciation which came up with a reduction of $7,500 off of value.
